Hearing no nominations from the floor, the 2016 slate was approved by all members, 24 with no opposition. 25 26 WRC 2016 Work Plan – Joan Jurkowich presented a summary and reported on the nine priority 27 strategies of the Water Quality Strategy, noting the tentative schedule that focuses on the work of the 28 Council over the next three years. Members were asked to suggest other work items for 2016. After 29 Name Representation Sharon Anderson E Cooperative Extension John Andersson P At-Large Fay Benson P Agriculture James Balyszak E At-Large Chris Bordlemay P Water Purveyor Cynthia Brock E Recreation Ed Bugliosi P USGS ex officio Liz Cameron P T C Environmental Health Sarah Dwyer P At-Large Bill George E Municipal Barry Goodrich P Watershed Organization Joan Jurkowich P TC Planning Dooley Kiefer P Associate Member Darby Kiley P Municipal TOMPKINS COUNTY WATER RESOURCES COUNCIL 2 discussion of all items, the WRC agreed to work on the following priority action items from the Water 30 Quality Strategy: 31 32 Participate in the update of the NYS Section 303(d) List of Impaired/TMDL Waters. 33 Keep municipal and county officials informed of existing federal/state/local wetland regulations 34 and changes to those regulations. 35 Provide comment on the High Hazard Pipeline Inventory. 36 Encourage completion of watershed assessments on remaining watersheds and disseminate 37 resulting information. 38 Continue participation in DEC’s Modeling Study/TMDL development activities. 39 Develop a systematic approach to data collection and analysis for potential pollutants. 40 Review existing watershed rules and recommend appropriate changes. 41 42 In addition, the WRC identified the following additional activity: Soil Health. 43 44 Members submitted a list of committees they would be interested in serving on. 45 46 Members discussed their concerns with manure being dumped near Ellis Hollow Creek Road. 47 Suggestions were made to call the Health Department. 48 49 Committee Reports - Wetlands – Darby Kiley reported that the Wetlands mapping has been completed 50 and an update will be provided by Nick Hollingshead at the next Water Resources Council meeting on 51 February 22. Grants – The Grants Committee did not meet. 52 53 Announcements – Members thanked Frank Proto for his many years’ service as Chair on the Water 54 Resources Council. It was announced that Liz Moran will be giving a presentation on the Cayuga Lake 55 Modeling Project at the Water Resources Council meeting February 22. Darby Kiley announced that 56 committee annual reports are due February 1st. Lynn Leopold announced that the next City of Ithaca 57 Recreation Committee meeting will be held at the Ithaca Youth Bureau on January 28th at 3 PM, and will 58 be discussing the possibility of renting power boats. Members discussed the possibility of making 59 comments on the clean boating regulations. John Andersson announced a stormwater management 60 training that will take place Dryden Fire Hall on February 17.
